Vibrant Gatti Park development

Vibrant Gatti Park development

Gatti Park, King’s Cross, London

Gatti Park is a vibrant new public space in the heart of King’s Cross, designed to encourage active play, social interaction and community connection. Created with local young people at the centre of the design process, the park combines a dynamic skatepark, basketball court and relaxed social spaces within a bold and colourful landscape that has quickly become a focal point for the neighbourhood. The striking ground mural, developed through engagement with local young people, reinforces the park’s identity as an inclusive and engaging destination for the community.

Working alongside Maylim, we were proud to contribute to this landmark public realm project through the design, manufacture and installation of the park’s striking architectural canopy structure. Finished in a vibrant orange powder coating, the sculptural steel canopy has been designed to complement the bold colour palette of the surrounding landscape and the artwork that defines the space.

More than simply a shelter structure, the canopy acts as a visual centrepiece within the park, creating a welcoming gathering point for visitors. The integrated seating forms a seamless extension of the structure, providing a functional and inviting place for people to rest, socialise and enjoy the activity around them, while reinforcing the cohesive design language of the scheme.

This project showcases how bespoke architectural steelwork can play a key role in placemaking, combining functionality, creativity and visual impact to enhance public spaces. Gatti Park is a fantastic example of collaborative design, where landscape, art and innovative fabrication come together to create a vibrant destination that will be enjoyed by the King’s Cross community for years to come.
